Alcohol Initiative Committee

This committee works to reduce underage drinking and drinking and driving in the community by providing education and implementing effective strategies that work to create population level change.

If you would like to join the Alcohol Initiative Committee or learn more about us, fill out the online membership form and a member will contact you soon.

Drinking and driving prevention strategies have included support for the Pasco Sheriff's Office compliance checks, DUI Checkpoints and Saturations and an officer to drive the DUI van. Other strategies have included educational materials, obtaining Last Drink Survey information identifying where someone had their drink of alcohol before getting a DUI and Drinking and Driving Prevention Lessons with School Resource Officers in Pasco County Schools.

Data from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles indicates we have seen reductions in alcohol related crashes, injuries and fatalities in Pasco County.
